21st Century Digital

Below is a short synopsis of my daily routine and logistics while living without domicile 1998-2005, with reference to related legal proceedings. Included at the bottom of this webpage is a copy of the Character and Fitness Disclosures I made to every law school I applied to in 2005 when I was admitted to New York Law School. My New York Law School Character and Fitness disclosures necessarily listed all instances I had been accused of violating any ordinance, regulation, or law.

During Autumn and Winter 2012-2013 I will continually update my 16 Year Commemorative Webpage to chronicle those 16 years, which helps to explain the status quo of the 21st Century Digital business venture. Here, please find a synopsis of basic living logistics for me, Dan Rosenblum, during 1999-2005:

From 1999 through 2005 while living without domicile in New York State, I necessarily had interaction with law enforcement, given my domicile every night was on public property on New York State municipal land in Suffolk and Manhattan Counties. Specifically, I was cited by municipal law enforcement ian Manhattan, Southampton, and East Hampton New York for camping without a permit or being in a park while it was closed approximately 5 times per year 1999-2005, with each docket requiring multiple court appearances in front of Judges in East Hampton, Southampton, and Manhattan. Thus, I appeared in front of a judge in NY approximately 20 or 20 times per year from 1999-2005 to answer why I was without domicile at that time. Elsewhere on my website I have posted a sampling of transcripts and Certificates of Disposition, and summonses from that time period.

If 21st Century Digital was a train, the train was derailed by a blow dealt during the legal debacle of Citibank's allegation of Grand Larceny in 1996. The effect of this de-railing rendered me, Dan Rosenblum, Proprietor of 21st Century Digital, homeless from 1999 through 2005- during which time period I slept outside in New York more than 1500 consecutive nights, whether winter, spring, summer, or fall. During such time period I sought to rectify the de-railment and move the 21st Century Digital agenda forward. 90 % of the 1500 nights I was without domicile, I slept at PANYNJ Pier 34, Old Town Beach in Southampton NY, or Wiborg Beach in East Hampton NY (the other 10 % was basically in those 3 jurisdictions and on Fire Island).. As is the case when sleeping on public property, I was called to appear in municipal court in Manhattan, Southampton, and East Hampton and appeared in before Judges in those jurisdictions an average of 20 times per year over the 5 years. As a defense for sleeping on public property, I put forth the de-railed train of 21st Century Digital as defense. I won every case, and then pleaded guilty to a charge of camping on the beach in 2005 rather then continue to litigate new of the same charges from 2004.

Presently, in 2012, it is impossible not to make reference to the period of 1999 through 2005 when describing the 16th Anniversary of TTS Industries.

EAST HAMPTON LOGISTICS, NO DOMICILE 2000-2005

During 2000 to 2005 when i lived "outside" in East Hampton ( i lived outside in EH, SH, and Manhattan December 1998- February 2005 365 days a year), my daily routine had a few constants: i'd pack up my gear on the beach in the morning, and then during the course of the day ride my bike to the EH Gym to shower and to the EH Uncle Bob's Self Storage to lock up my tent and retrieve my camping stove, and cycle to Main Beach where I'd cook on the picnic tables. Later, I'd get my tent from Uncle Bob's then shower again at the gym then set up my tent or tarp again at Wiborg.

Note that on October 17, 2004 Sunday New York Times reporter Julia Mead wrote about me after walking off the beach with me after I de-camped at Wiborg a few weeks earlier. Here is a link to the article: http://query.nytimes.com/gst/fullpage.html?res=9D02E7DB1F3BF934A25753C1A9629C8B63&pagewanted=all .

SOUTHAMPTON LOGISTICS, NO DOMICILE 2002-2004

During 2002 to 2005 when i lived "outside" in Southampton ( i lived outside in EH, SH, and Manhattan December 1998- February 2005 365 days a year- but only started frequenting Old Town Beach in SH in 2002 around the time I started working for Hampton Jitney), my daily routine had a few constants: i'd pack up my gear on the beach in the morning, and
then during the course of the day ride my bike to the Omni Health & Raquetball Club to shower and to the SH Uncle Bob's Self Storage to lock up my tent and retrieve my camping stove, and cycle to Cooper Beach or Agawam Park where I'd cook on the picnic tables. Later, I'd get my tent from Uncle Bob's then shower again at the gym then set up my tent or tarp again at Wiborg. On days when I worked I'd punch in at the Omni for the Jitney then collect the fares on the bus en route to Manhattan. I worked on the Jitney May 2002- Autumn 2004

Wiborg Beach and Old Town Beach in the Hamptons are quite picturesque year round. Here are a few photos:

MANHATTAN LOGISTICS, NO DOMICILE, 1999-2002

PANYNJ Pier 34, Holland Tunnel Ventilation Tower
Port Authority of New York and New Jersey Pier 34,
Canal Street at the Hudson River

I continuously maintained a storage locker in Manhattan as well from 1999-2005, most of that time at Manhattan Mini Storage on Spring Street at Varick Street.

Winter 1999 and winter 2000 for about a year year and a half I slept every night on the Pier. I kept a sleeping bag and tarp in a backpack at Manhattan Mini Storage on Spring and Varick (across from the new Trump SoHo). I'd get the sleeping bag and tarp every night and hike out to the pier from Spring and Varick to Canal Street and the Hudson River. After sleeping I'd lock my sleeping gear in storage and retrieve cooking gear and make eggs or oats at Vesuvio Park at Spring and Thompson every morning, then go to Bally's gym to shower. After 9/11 I no longer used the pier. I used the same storage facility at Spring and Varick, and also had storage with camping gear in both Southampton and East Hampton. After 9/11 when in the city I'd generally take the subway and city bus to Jacob Riis Park and camp there each night then return to sSpring Street. But by 2002 75% of the year, through 2005, I camped on the beach in East Hampton and Southampton, and worked on the Hampton Jitney. In 2005 I moved into an apartment in Manhattan. From 2005 to 2006 I worked at Bear Stearns as adminsitrative assistrant in their compliance department on Park Avenue in Manhattan, then went to law school 2006-2009, then NYU Stern School of Business 2009-2011 for my MBA.

MY 2005 LAW SCHOOL APPLICATION AND ADMISSION CHARACTER AND FITNESS DISCLOSURES

I applied and was admitted to New York Law School in 2005 through the Law School Admissions Council system. Both LSAC and NYLS required a Character and Fitness Disclosure listing all instances where it had been alleged that any ordinance, or law had been violated.

Here is my 2 page Character and Fitness Disclosure from 2005 after living 1998-2005 (about 6 years) without domicile:

Click here, too, for pages carrying images of decisions in East Hampton Village, Southampton Village, and Manhattan regarding my 'camping' during those years.
